Together with the Dyslexia Awareness sessions the communities of practice sessions provide the benefit of individual reflection time and reinforcement of content through discussions with colleagues.
This innovative learning format leverages the power of your educator community to provide support and hands-on, practical learning that elevates instructional practice and improves student outcomes. With discussion-based learning by engaging in peer-to-peer support, collaboration and learning, educators are able to strengthen the implementation of their literacy plans. Communities of practice are crucial as we tackle the literacy crisis and close the achievement gap:
- Community Discussion and Brainstorming: Challenges are discussed in depth and strategies for addressing those challenges are established
- Practice, Practice, Practice: The educators in the community have the opportunity to practice the new strategies.
- Progress Review and Continued Community Support: Review progress, draw upon continued support for implementing new strategies, and celebrate successes.
