I have always focused on language including the linguistic aspect and its affect on learning especially reading. Increasing the ability to understand,use and manipulate language ( linguistics, semantics and pragmatics) to fulfill a student's communicative need is vitally important and increases their ability to be successful in where ever their passion takes them. What should people talk to me about? I think that improving the English Language Learners' and low social economic students' skills using the California curriculum as effective as we possibly can whether they are special ed or general ed would be a good start.
