“Getting to Know Mr. Quinn”TeachingThe 2016-2017 school year begins my 21st year as a teacher. I began my teaching career in the Poway Unified School District, where I taught kindergarten for two years. In 1998 I moved to Canyon Lake and began teaching in the Perris Union School District. I spent two years as a 6th grade before going back for one last year teaching kindergarten. After I became a teacher, I thought that someday it would be nice to teach in my local community school, so I transferred my career to LEUSD and took a job teaching 4th grade at Tuscany Hills Elementary. The very next year both Cottonwood Elementary and Canyon Lake Middle School opened and created an enrollment drop at Tuscany Hills Elementary, so I needed to relocate. Fortunately I choose to come to CLMS, where I have been teaching math and science since the school opened its doors over ten years ago.PersonalI currently live in Canyon Lake with my wife and two daughters. My oldest daughter Ally is an 9th grader and attends TCHS, and my youngest daughter Tori is a 7th grader attending CLMS. My wife is completing her 23rd year as a Farmer’s Insurance claims representative and is fortunate enough to be able to work from home. When I am not teaching I enjoy riding motocross, surfing, snowboarding/snow-skiing, tennis, and I am passionate about water-skiing.
